Forest Green Rovers have added forward Mees Rijks to their squad on a three-month loan from Bristol Rovers. The 23-year-old Dutch attacker arrives seeking regular playing time in the National League, where Forest Green currently sit 14th with 13 points from nine games.

Rijks joined Bristol Rovers from Norwegian side Vålerenga in January 2026 and made 15 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice. He featured in the EFL Trophy this season, playing the full 90 minutes against Chelsea U21s, but had not been included in a league matchday squad under manager Steve Evans. Forest Green announced the move on their social media channels.

"A warm welcome to Forest Green Rovers, Mees Rijks!" the club said. "The forward joins Rovers on a three-month loan deal from League Two side Bristol Rovers."

The move comes as Forest Green aim to improve on a recent run of two wins, one draw and two defeats in their last five matches. The club will hope Rijks can contribute to an attack that has scored 13 goals so far this campaign.
