Early Season Highlights
Adam Hinshelwood surveyed Worthing’s first two National League games and declared there’s “lots to be pleased about – and lots to learn.” The Rebels opened with a 3‑2 win at Carlisle, then fell 2‑1 at home to Forest Green Rovers, where they led 1‑0 at the break.
Crowd and Performance
Hinshelwood noted the club played in front of “8,000‑plus at Carlisle” and “3,000‑plus at home.” He praised the first‑half performances in each match but warned the squad must maintain that level for the full 90 minutes. He said the difference in quality between National South and the National League is massive and that “three of the four goals we’ve let in so far are down to things that have easy fixes.”
Upcoming Fixtures and Squad Depth
The Reds will take on Wealdstone at 12:30pm on Saturday. In the National League Cup, they lost 2‑1 at home to West Ham U21s after Remiero Moulton put them ahead. Hinshelwood highlighted the importance of squad depth, noting Noor Husin, Matt Burgess and George Cox are all recovering from injuries and should be available soon.
