Forest Green Rovers have secured the loan signing of Swindon Town defender Filozofe Mabete just before the start of the new National League season. The 23-year-old joins the Gloucestershire club in search of regular first-team football after struggling to cement a place in Ian Holloway's side at Swindon.
Mabete's arrival adds depth to Forest Green's defensive options as they prepare for their upcoming fixture against Wealdstone on February 16, 2027. The centre-back made 33 appearances for Swindon last season after joining from Wolves.
Despite being a fan favourite at Swindon, Mabete found himself on the fringes under Holloway. The loan move to Forest Green allows him to gain valuable playing time in the professional ranks, with both clubs benefiting from the arrangement. Swindon retain the option to recall him if needed.
Known for his composed defending and ability to play out from the back, Mabete brings experience from League Two and a desire to prove himself. His addition could be key as Forest Green look to climb the National League table, currently sitting 20th ahead of their away clash with Wealdstone.
